Make the Most of Your Leave in 2025: Long Vacation Ideas

Planning your leave wisely can turn ordinary vacations into extended adventures. Here are some recommended dates in 2025 that maximize your time off with minimal leave days, perfect for exploring Indonesia or relaxing with loved ones.

January 30-31, 2025 (Thursday-Friday)

With just 2 days of leave, you can enjoy a vacation lasting 9 days! Start your trip on Saturday, January 25, 2025, and wrap it up on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

Since this period coincides with Chinese New Year celebrations, TRAC recommends visiting cities in Indonesia renowned for their unique festivities, such as Grebeg Sudiro in Solo City. Immerse yourself in the vibrant Chinese New Year atmosphere with cultural performances, food fairs, and parades.

April 8-11, 2025 (Tuesday-Friday)

For a longer Eid holiday, you’ll need to tap into your leave quota, but the payoff is worth it. The extended holiday begins with Nyepi Day on March 29, 2025, followed by the Eid holiday and joint leave until Monday, April 7, 2025.

By adding 4 days of leave from April 8 to 11, you can enjoy a total of 16 days off, giving you plenty of time to relax in your hometown or take a well-deserved break before returning to work on Monday, April 14, 2025.

May 2, 2025 (Friday)

Near midyear, Friday, May 2, 2025, is a perfect “sandwich day” between Labor Day on May 1 (Thursday) and the weekend.

Taking just 1 day of leave gives you a 4-day weekend to explore new destinations. Start planning now to make the most of this brief but rejuvenating break.

May 30, 2025 (Friday)

Another “sandwich day” worth noting is Friday, May 30, 2025, which falls between Ascension Day on May 29 (Thursday) and the weekend. A single day of leave creates a 4-day mini vacation, perfect for quick getaways or family time.

December 29-31, 2025 (Monday-Wednesday)

For those with unused leave at the end of the year, this is your chance to go all out. Take 3 days of leave from December 29 to 31 and pair it with the Christmas holiday (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1, 2026) for an extended year-end vacation. If you want an even longer break, consider extending until Sunday, January 4, 2026.
