In September, YouTube sensation IShowSpeed embarked on an exciting adventure through Indonesia, exploring some of the country’s most famous tourist destinations.

Known for his high-energy content, “El Cepat” shared his experiences with fans as he toured iconic spots in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bali.

TRAC has rounded up the standout locations from IShowSpeed’s trip—perfect inspiration for your next vacation or year-end travel plans.

Travel Destinations in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and Bali Visited by IShowSpeed

Jakarta: Old Town and Pasar Baru

IShowSpeed kicked off his Indonesian adventure in Jakarta, where he livestreamed his experiences around the city.

One of his first stops was the iconic Old Town, or Kota Tua. Here, Speed embraced local culture—dancing to dangdut music, braving a haunted house, and even getting his fortune told!

Old Town Jakarta is a historic district that once served as the heart of Batavia during colonial times. Speed explored Fatahillah Square, the most famous part of the area, which used to function as the city hall.

From there, IShowSpeed headed over to Pasar Baru, a bustling market area not far from Old Town. His visit, however, was a bit chaotic due to overwhelming fan enthusiasm, making it an exciting but hectic stop.

Despite its name, Pasar Baru (“New Market”) has been around since the 1800s! It’s a lively hub of shops selling everything from clothes to food to specialty items like cameras.

When it comes to culinary delights, Pasar Baru doesn’t disappoint. You can sample legendary dishes like Bakmi Gang Kelinci noodles or crispy Cakue from Ko Atek.

You can enjoy the excitement of exploring Jakarta's tourist destinations with a car rental service from TRAC. If you want to be more comfortable, car rental with a driver can be an option.

Yogyakarta: Malioboro, Alun-alun Kidul, and Omah Kecebong

After soaking in the fast-paced vibe of Jakarta, IShowSpeed and his crew made their way to Yogyakarta to experience the rich cultural diversity Indonesia is known for.

No visit to Jogja is complete without a stop at Malioboro, and of course, IShowSpeed didn’t miss the chance to explore this vibrant street.

Like many tourists, Speed took a stroll down Malioboro, but he didn’t just stop there. He hopped on a delman (a traditional horse-drawn carriage) and visited Beringharjo Market at the end of the street.

Beringharjo is famous for its wide range of goods, from traditional batik to local snacks. If you’re hunting for more souvenirs, Teras Malioboro is another great option for authentic Yogyakarta finds.

Another iconic spot on Speed’s itinerary was the southern square, known locally as Alkid. Here, Speed attempted the famous challenge of walking blindfolded between the twin banyan trees—a legend says if you succeed, your wishes will come true! Despite trying several times, Speed couldn’t quite pull it off. Have you ever taken on the challenge?

After stirring up excitement in Malioboro and Alkid, Speed’s next stop was Omah Kecebong in Sleman Regency. Here, he got a hands-on introduction to Javanese culture.

During his visit, Speed donned a traditional jarik (a type of Javanese sarong) and a blangkon (a traditional headpiece). He also tried his hand at batik-making and even gave jemparingan, the traditional Javanese archery, a go.

Bali: Uluwatu and Ubud

IShowSpeed’s Indonesian journey reached its final chapter on the island of the gods—Bali. This vibrant destination marked his last stop before heading to new adventures.

Upon arriving, Speed made his way to Uluwatu, where he watched a mesmerizing Kecak Dance performance. But, true to his energetic nature, he didn’t just watch—he jumped in and danced alongside the performers!

Next, Speed took his livestream to Ubud in Gianyar Regency. Ubud, known for its serene ambiance and cultural richness, became the perfect backdrop for his exploration.

During his time there, Speed visited a variety of iconic spots including the Ubud Art Market, Bali Zoo, Monkey Forest, and Pura Taman Saraswati. Of course, he didn’t miss out on trying Bali’s famous civet coffee.

Ubud is a favorite destination for travelers looking to escape the beach crowds and experience the tranquility of Bali’s highlands. It’s an ideal spot for those seeking to recharge and immerse themselves in nature and culture.

You can use the Bali car rental service from TRAC to explore various tourist sites in Ubud and its surroundings more safely and comfortably.
