As an archipelagic country, the marine beauty of Indonesia has always been one of the many reasons why tourists admire and love going to this country. The reason is clear, tens of thousands of kilometers of seemingly ceaseless coastline that surrounds the islands of Indonesia create endless travel destinations. You may hear about new or different destinations every single day with appeals you won’t find elsewhere. From one beach to another, the beauty and uniqueness of each beach makes tourists continue to hunt for the coolest beach tourist destinations. One of them is Tanjung Bira Beach which is located in Bulukumba Regency, South Sulawesi Province.
Tanjung Bira is located in the southeast of South Sulawesi, about 200 km from downtown Makassar and can be reached in 5-6 hours by car. The road from Makassar to Tanjung Bira is also quite smooth. Some of you may get sleepy on the road, but not this cause you’re in for a treat for the enchanting scenery around you will keep your eye spoiled. From the beautiful sea and natural scenery you see on the way there to small laid-back towns.
Although the final destination is Tanjung BIra, the Jeneponto area deserves a spotlight. The expanse savanna and wild grazing horses there are a sight that is guaranteed to be difficult to find anywhere else. Unreal. These sceneries are among the things that will make your trip to Tanjung Bira unforgettable.
After such long journey, visiting only one beach would be such a waste. For that, you won’t need to worry because around Tanjung Bira, there various beaches and islets that are worthy of a visit. One of them is the slightly hidden Bara Beach, which is located next to Tanjung Bira Beach. You can walk there or ride a car with a little bit of effort. If you’re hunting for serenity, then this beach is the right choice. What makes them similarly great is that they both have super soft white sand. Easy and pleasing on the feet.
Looking for more? Hop on to a boat a little to the west to a small islet named Liukang Loe or further to Kambing Island. These destinations are definitely a must-go.
Not just the appealing beautiful white sandy beaches, you must also get wet if you want to admire the underwater beauty in the waters of Tanjung Bira and its surroundings. You don’t to be a proficient diver to explore them because snorkeling would be enough. The waters around Liukang Loe is a good place to start. It’s just approximately 4 km from Tanjung Bira and from a boat, you can jump directly into the shallow waters and go snorkeling.
About 20 minutes ride from the gate of Tanjung Bira Beach is the Pinisi boat factory. Pinisi is the traditional boat of the Bugis people. The boats are still traditionally made involving the local people. Don’t miss out to take one or two selfies with these majestic boats in the background.
When visiting Tanjung Bira, public transportation is somewhat not a practical solution, especially if you want to make your trip more of a leisure. Therefore, if you come from especially outside the province or island, then renting a vehicle seems to be a wiser choice to make way for a more flexible vacation.
