Lately, Negeri Kahyangan in Magelang has captured the attention of many travelers. Aptly named "The Land of Heaven," this enchanting destination is not only renowned for its beauty but also its well-managed facilities that make for a comfortable visit. Situated in Magelang, this destination offers a delightful alternative to the majestic Borobudur Temple.
Dubbed as the Land of Heaven, this destination showcases the breathtaking natural allure of Central Java. With clusters of mountains, hills, and lush green gardens, it's no wonder that it has become a must-visit destination for the Eid holidays. Before you plan your trip, be sure to check out some of the essential information below.
Visiting this beautiful destination won't break the bank, as entrance fees are only IDR 10,000, allowing you to enjoy the stunning scenery of Negeri Kahyangan to your heart's content.
Keep in mind that during major holidays, ticket prices may be adjusted slightly. However, rest assured that they remain quite affordable. For instance, during Christmas and New Year's, the observed ticket price was only IDR 13,000, maintaining its reputation as a budget-friendly attraction.
Negeri Kahyangan is situated on the slopes of Mount Merbabu, amidst the picturesque highlands. This popular spot falls within the administrative area of Surodadi, Wonolelo Village, Sawangan District, in Magelang Regency.
To pinpoint the exact location, simply search for "Negeri Kahyangan" on Google Maps or other travel guide apps.
From the Magelang Regency downtown or Borobudur Temple, you can reach this destination with a one-hour drive. If traveling from Solo City, expect a journey of around two hours.
Meanwhile, visitors coming from downtown Yogyakarta can arrive at Negeri Kahyangan in approximately 90 minutes via the Muntilan area.
For the best experience, try visiting during the summer. On a clear day, you can marvel at the sight of several mountains all at once. With a bit of luck, you'll be able to take in the beauty of Mount Merbabu, Mount Merapi, Mount Sindoro, and Mount Andong, as well as the surrounding hills.
This area was once known as the "Kahyangan Highway" due to its breathtaking views and status as a connecting road. When fog rolls in, the winding road appears to ascend and descend through the clouds, creating heavenly scene.
The Kahyangan Highway has since been well-managed and renamed. The local village-owned enterprise (BUMDes) oversees its maintenance, ensuring a quality experience for visitors.
Additionally, the area boasts numerous picturesque photo spots. Be sure not to miss the popular castle arch, which is a favorite spot among many visitors.
Negeri Kahyangan is open 24 hours a day, making it a perfect spot for morning or evening visits after exploring other destinations in Magelang.
In fact, you can even spend the night camping in a traditional tent or a trendy campervan. Feel free to inquire about camping equipment rental and site conditions.
No need to worry about going hungry during your visit to Negeri Kahyangan, as Negeri Kahyangan Coffee and Resto offers a diverse menu, ranging from geprek chicken to steak.
Be sure to try their selection of hot beverages, including various wedang, coffee, and even a simple cup of tea that tastes delightfully satisfying.
