5 Things to Prepare Before Heading Out to a Concert or Music Festival

A series of concerts and music festivals are around the corner in 2022. It’s undeniable that the pandemic has brought the world to its knees and countless activities to a halt, including music events worldwide. After almost two years of no live music performances, the government has eased restrictions and allowed people to organize and attend offline concerts.

Delirious and enthusiastic are the right words to describe how you feel before welcoming your idol or merely taking part in the excitement of a music festival. So, to anticipate the unexpected things, don’t forget to pay attention to the following things to ensure that the time spent in the concert becomes the time worth spending.

Five tips for attending concerts and music festivals pleasantly

1. Ensure that you have the ticket in hand

The term ticket bidding war when buying a ticket has started to surface recently. Online ticket sales have made it possible for anyone anywhere to get a ticket so that you don’t have to physically get in line with countless others just to get a ticket. So, make sure that you have bought a ticket from an official channel that suits your preferred time and class. Usually, there are many phases of ticket sales, from early bird tickets, where you can obtain a ticket way before the concert, to the presale, and regular tickets that are usually more expensive but can be had right before the concert.

2. Dress accordingly

Make sure that you don’t come to the concert underdressed or overdressed. Dress accordingly to the theme and make sure it’s comfortable. Casual attire would be convenient for music festivals like Pestapora or We The Fest, but don’t wear flip-flops. You don’t want to get your feet all muddy and sore due to the walking between stages. If you’re planning to go to the Jazz Gunung while reveling in the beautiful Mount Bromo, don’t forget to wear a jacket or coat. For Ubud Jazz Village, casual attire or semi-formal would be appropriate.

3. Essentials only, please

Sort and choose the items you will take with you when going to a concert or music festival. Just bring the essentials. Bring a clutch or tote bag that can fit a wallet, cellphone, hand sanitizer, mask, and other personal items. Bring a spare folding bag if you plan to buy some official merchandise from the show.

4. Top up your electronic wallet or bring cash

Most organizers don’t allow concertgoers to bring food and drink from outside. But don’t worry because there’s usually a food court or booths that sell food and beverages. So, make sure that you prepare your electronic money ready. Oh, and cash can come in handy, too.

5. Prepare a transport from and to the venue

One other thing that many may neglect is how to get there and how to leave the venue. Public transportation is usually full at the start and at the end of a concert so is the parking lot. So, if you decide to drive, consider a couple of things like the venue location, the distance between the venue and your place, safety issues, as well as the parking facility. Another option is to rent a car and appoint a designated driver from the rental company.

If you’re planning to come in a group with friends or family, you can rent a bus to go together. Designate a meeting point to avoid picking up the group one by one. Renting a bus is also a perfect option for people coming out of town. Imagine the excitement along the way! Blast the bus sound system and sing your heart out to the tunes of the band you’re about to watch.

You don’t have to worry about getting around with proper transportation. But always make sure that you book a car from the most reliable providers like TRAC. TRAC provides a car and bus rental service that you can use to avoid traffic jams and spare all the time wasted looking for a parking spot.
