While it only recently gained prominence, Kopi Klotok has been open for eight years. Sri Handayani, the owner, shared that she established the eatery in 2015 to satisfy her husband’s longing for rare traditional cuisines.

Coincidentally, Yani, her nickname, had plans for a retirement business. Eventually, she transformed a 3-hectare land and a vintage Joglo house inherited from her grandmother into the now-frequented eatery.

In addition to serving the signature kopi klotok (a charcoal-brewed coffee), the eatery also presents a variety of delightful home-cooked dishes. The back area, surrounded by rice fields, is also ideal for a cozy lunch. It’s truly peaceful!

Pricing and Menu at Kopi Klotok

Despite the constant crowd of visitors, Kopi Klotok maintains its affordable prices. Along with tasty flavors, the dishes are reasonably priced, ranging from IDR 3,000 to only IDR 15,000.

A post on Twitter revealed that many customers dined at Kopi Klotok but refused to pay. The number of unpaid meals was quite shocking. According to the eatery’s management report, around 868 omelets and 407 fried bananas went unpaid.

However, the owner isn’t bothered. She considers this incident a learning experience to improve her eatery's ordering and payment system.
